The attractions in and around Caerfai Bay

Caerfai Bay Caravan and Tent Park is situated in a beautiful part of Wales, with views into Caerfai Bay and across St Brides Bay towards Solva, Newgale, Broad Haven, and the islands of Skomer, Skokolm, Grassholm and Ramsey.

Caerfai Bay itself is a fine beach already described, but there are many other  beaches to visit locally such as Whitesands, Porth Melgan, and Abereiddy. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is  approximately 180 miles long.  You can take a short walk from the beach or for the serious walker try the whole length.  In recent years small local bus services have been developed to connect various stages of the walk.  WEB Sites:

Whitesands has a wide expanse of sand, suitable for surfing and swimming. It has a permanent lifeguard station, and a café/shop.

Porth Melgan is approached by cliff path to the north of Whitesands, and is en route to St Davids Head where there are stone circles – remnants of a Neolithic settlement, and also a Neolithic burial chamber called a Cromlech.

Porth Selau is another small beach approached this time from the southern path from Whitesands

Abereiddy beach is known for its dark sand and fossils. Cottage ruins and ruins of old quarry workings can be seen on the footpath (part of which has wheelchair access) and takes you to ‘The Blue Lagoon’ a flooded quarry to the north of Abereiddy.

Local Harbours are Porthclais, Solva, Abercastle and Porthgain (where you can see the remnants of old granite workings; it also has a pub – ‘The Sloop’, and a seafood Bistro – ‘The Shed’).

St Justinian not only houses the Lifeboat station, but several of the boat trips to Ramsey and the outer islands go from here, such as:
